Single cylinder 250 interstater?

gNerdalie found the GPX and VT250s a bit heavy so we're thinking about a
single instead.
More practice needed! I still reckon the VTR250 / Spada is about the
best of them. And the SRV250, just to prove I'm not a hopeless Honda fiend.

The Kawasaki BR250 looks like a light bike you could ride all day at
They stopped making those in the late 80's and never really sold any...

Gnat's skinny, but she's not weak, nor short. She just needs practice.
~
True; she's easily big enough for these bikes.
It's just a confidence thing at this stage....

Now, that'd be telling.
Not me. Must have something to do with not being an individual...
... 10 more years before she gets her own place and you won't have to worry!

115kph. What others d'yer reckon are suitable?
Does Yamaha still make anything like the SRX250 - that wasn't a bad little
'sports' bike that probably would have handled that sort of riding?

Cheers
DT175 (with 250 cc stickers)!
Hah ! Beat ya to it !
Well it was something we had in common wasn't it ? errm the
ownership, not the high regard...
Yup, that'd be it, a good description. Cheap is it.

(I think I'm getting procrastination down to a fine art)
As long as it will carry all of our beers mate...

BR is 163kg? (not sure if that wet or dry)?

Honda spada is 140kg dry?

Johno

Real beer mate?
Taurus Diesel
325cc is not learner-legal in Qld.
I've only ever seen one in my life. It was bought by the apprentice
motorcycle mechanic cheap because the shop who had it on the floor
couldn't sell it after 2 years.

He had it for a couple of years and it was reliable (but it was new
then). I would say that there probably isn't anything wrong with it
except for the fact that it's a rare older 250. He liked to claim at
the time that it was a more modern motor than the Honda or Yamaha single
cylinder road bikes (it was also more expensive if sold at full rrp).

I don't mind older bikes, in fact I actually enjoy most of them but
older rare jap bikes are often hard to get bits for. The CBX250 and the
SRX250 are much more common and would be lots easier to source bits for...
Ummm. Maybe. Pretty old now, though. CBX250 and SRX250 are similar.
Don't sure if there's a Suzi equivalent.
