Mid Ohio demo rides

Shirley, a round for the house please...

We headed down to Lexington yesterday, to the Vintage Motorcycle event, with
the goal to hit the demo rides. Hit some rain on the way there and decided

Should have read this before abpmh I guess. Nice tale Sue.
Ouch... to much sun this weekend I guess... because I did the same thang...

to press on hoping it would dry up. There was so much to see and do there,
ya really need the whole weekend to take it all in. It was my first
experience in this type of setting on my own bike, mental note... remove all
leather prior to waiting in line, moving 5-10 feet at a time for an hour.
We finally got up to the gate and paid the $$$price of admission, and waited
for the trucks ahead to start moving, no luck. I had waited long enough and
moved into a spot where I could get through, beeped my horn and smiled at
the driver to let him know I was moving and not to hit me, he moved his
truck over a bit, nice fella, TL followed. We proceeded to pass all the
stopped vehicles and head to the back of the track where the demo rides were
located. Found a good spot to park the bikes and headed over to our
destination, lots of people walking, motorcycles, cars, golf carts, and
bicycles all mixing on the same road.

Waited in line for about 1/2 hour for my first ride on a 08 Softtail Deluxe,
TL (nice guy), let the others pick what they wanted and took what was left,
a Softtail Custom. I loved it. I was hesitant because it's a tad larger
than my 1200L, but it was though as if it was made for just me. ;-) The
course was good, it had everything from straight to mild twisties, the only
drawback was it was only 13 miles. The Deluxe handled like a dream. Got
back and no on in line so we did it again. This time I tried the Heritage
Classic and TL took the CVO SE Springer Softtail. I liked this bike, it was
very responsive and the copper color was nice. The handlebars seemed too
high for me, but on the open road it was great. I really like 6th gear. I
tried to keep up with TL on this ride, but he was having way too much fun...
I tried to get a pic of him, but it would have come out a blur. Taking the
bikes back in had turned into the ride from hell, what a cluster. We'd had
enough and decided to call it a day and head anywhere else but here.

Headed back home on 97, a great road that took us through small towns, state
parks and scenic views. It was a good day with about 300 miles roundtrip.

If your still thirsty have another, TL's buying.
