OT: Tents

I've got guide camp coming up soon but I need to get a new tent. I've seen
Whoa...... this doesn't seem right somehow ..... how did you get past the
CRB(sp) check ? :-)

And why shouldn't I get "past" a CRB check? A medical condition doesn't
exclude you.

My job is working with and caring for very young children and babies and
it's not just one CRB check but several enhanced ones.

the so-called two and four persons type tents but the persons must be
toddlers. I need a decent sized tent. Ideally one I can stand up in with

room for luggage and sleeps two in decent sized camp beds A built in ground
If you want one you can stand up in, you'll need way more than the average
'two man' tent - this will usually be a dome or tunnel style, and will only
be just big enough for two people sleeping side-by-side, with enough
headroom to sit up, and no more. To get a stand-up-able one, you'll probably
need to get a 4+ person one - unless they do unusually-shaped tents in 2-3
man sizes, that are specifically tall to allow standing up (I've not heard
of them if they do).

FWIW, I've just bought a 6-person Gellert tent in TK-Maxx, of all places -
reduced from £199 down to £85.

sheet to stop the bugs getting in is essential. Any ideas where I can get
All good tents should have a rain / windproof outer, and a separate inner
with a built-in groundsheet. Also look for a 'porch' if you go for the
smaller tents - if it hasn't got one, you'll get wet opening the door if
it's raining.

some pretty good deals, if you've got time to mail-order. Can't vouch for
them though.
You are from N Hertsish aren't you? Try the Camping Exhibition at the garden
centre outside Codicote, they sell of the many display tents at the end of
the show ( 13 May) at reduced prices, you do have to take them down
yourself but it's worth it.
It's a good blast down the B656 too.
Relum used to do big proper canvas tents fairly cheap. And air rifles.
Or Anchor Supplies.
will never go back to those cheap & nasty canvas things.
Check the dealers link on the Outwell site.
Hah. The Halfords Monotreme.

one fairly cheaply?
Canvey Island. Thousands of them they have, all shapes and sizes and
all in stock (every time I wanted one). Closed on Mondays. It is the
first shop you come to.

About half way down. Everything else you're likely to need is on the
page, too.
Eight hours and nobody has done the "I woke up with one" line.
Or, if I bought two I'll be "two tents" and would need to relax.
Ok, whose turn is it to do the "In tents" line?
