Mid to Forward Controls

My buddy wants to move the controls on his Sportster forward.
web search:

Lots of kits available.
I've ridden bikes with the controls forward and it's ok on the heavier ones,
but I've
also had a couple Sportys and the ride is a little rougher and you get

pretty good from the seat when you hit a bump. With the mid controls you can
cushion that with your knees somewhat, but with the forward ones you're just
going to get launched. I've seen the forward conversions on a Sporty so they
must be out there though.

remain where it is on the outer primary case or it can be moved so that it
comes out of the inner primary case just below and to the rear of the
cylinders.

I moved my ex's lever to the inside primary on her Superglide a long time
ago and I can't now remember why we did it that way.

Does anyone have an opinion either way ? Is it even an option to move the
Sportster's lever to the other side of the primary ?
Have you tried looking at the floor bikes at a dealership ?
