2 steps forward and 1 step back

It seems to me that every time I work on my bikes with a big event
coming up that the bolts all decide to bust. Yesterday afternoon, I
decided to put the new Flexx handlebars on the my old GasGas. It will
benefit the most from the bars. I figure while I'm doing that, I
might as well put that new bolt-on damper tower on. So I got the
damper tower on and then I started removing the controls off of the
Pro Tapers. Every thing was fine until I started removing the clutch
MC/lever assy. Not 1, but both mounting bolts snapped during removal.
So, out comes the drill and tap set. I increased the bolts size to
6mm X 1.0. Because of clearance problems, I had to use a 6mm clutch
pivot bolt with the shoulder in order to use the larger size. I will
probably get some Helicoils so I can use the proper size bolts.
That's what you get for installing handlebars that you said you'd sell
to someone else...so there!

Pfffftt!

I bought a new piston and rings for my bike but decided not to install yet
because I didn't want something to go wrong and possibly prevent me from
spoding.
Bring it with you just in case!
