A momentary lapse of concentration



Looks to be expensive. radiator's smashed, tank's got a big ding,
handlebars somewhat bent both sides, front indicator, brake lever,
clutch lever doesn't look good, headlight trim. I'm wondering if
breaking for spares might be the better option. I'll have a better look
tomorrow, oh and a new crash helmet by the looks of it. On the plus
side I seem to be largely OK.

I was exiting the Hogarth roundabout going west along the A4 in the
inside lane, I had just checked behind me because I was going to move
into the centre lane and when I looked back the car in front of me was
nearly stationary right on the apex of exit. I clipped his offside rear

1. Use your mirrors.
2. If you travel fast enough, the lane next to you is always clear.

wing which smashed the radiator and then came off the bike doing the
damage to the other side. Apparently a couple of cars ahead someone had
another vehicle drift into the nearside lane and stopped pretty
sharply. Because this was out of sight I didn't get any advance
warning. Obviously I was following too close though.
