Clutch cable replacment. HELP!!!



Hi I'm changing a clutch cable on a 2002 CR250 for the first time. It
seemed easy enough. Take the old one off and replace it with the new
and do a little adjustment. Well either it's more difficult than that
or I'm missing somthing during the installation. What I noticed during
the first ride was that when I pulled in the clutch and then shifted I
could hear the engine shift prior to releasing the clutch. This was the

If the clutch (basket, plates, etc) were previously allowing the bike
to roll easily in gear with the clutch pulled... it really sounds like
you have too much free play and it isn'tt fully disengaging? You do
realize that a new cable can/will stretch and need re-adjusting a few
times before it settles in...

knowing how to install a clutch cable correctly. So again today I will
play with the adjustement to see if I can get the adjustment correct.
Is there anyone out there that might know what I'm doing wrong? Any
help would be appreciated.
Could you post photos of how you attached the cable at both ends?
