H-D sportster 883 -98

Hi, Problem with the gearbox on my sportster, when the engine gets warm
i'ts difficult to shift to the next lower gear.
I can't go further down with the gearshifter I have to release the clutch a
little bit and then it sounds awful as the cogs grasps into each
other.Sometimes I have a neutral between 5 and the 4 gear and 4 and 3 gear
but no light indication on the panel. Someone who has any idea whats
wrong? Is this a common problem ? I have exchange the oil, but the problem
still exists.

What brand and weight of oil are you using?
Try draining and refilling with plain old 10W-40 from the auto shop. Make
sure it does not say "energy conserving" on the bottle. A lot of wet clutch
problems like this that people have reported on various bikes have been
solved by switching to a different oil.
