500 Miles

In 8 hours on the 'Bird. Now that, imho, is a long stretch. The problem
is my right wrist.
Pansy ;)
Where in the Continent? Shirley you can't do that distance in
the UK -- I've always been told that nowhere is further than 75 miles
from the sea.
Frankfurt - Le Havre, 486 miles if you want to be pedantic.

Just the right wrist?
Yep, should have mentioned that in the original post. Now you point it
out, it is a bit odd. Maybe I'd better stop...oh...never mind...

So....any suggestions on Throttle Meisters, lubricant, using left hand
Silkopen? Worked a treat on my throttle cable.

for throttle control, or, more obviously, just changing the bike?
They don't have the threaded hole for a thumbscrew in the bottom
of the twistgrip housing any more?
Dunno, I'll have a peer at it, but current best sggestion seems to be
Heli bars r equivalent.

The throttle on modern injected bikes is usually incredibly light -
you wanna try holding the throttle open on a big set of slide carbs!
I see your puny Jap slides and raise you real mens Italian slides (lock
paddles would be more apposite).
I don't know how they rate in the lexicon of Guzzi throttle woes, but
I've tried an early Le Mans and the throttle was staggeringly heavy in
use.

Might just have been that particular bike of course. Is it the Del Ortos
that give the most problems? I forget.
I raise you with a K100 clutch.
No, its fine, cable nice and free and everything. Maybe I'm just
cackhanded. But I dont get it so much (it still happens a bit) on the
Trophy, so the aforementioned Heli Bars might be a good idea.
I found a link for Jota bars.

for £55.
Many thanks, I was having a bit of a web-searchSpazza trying to find it. I
will definitly have a butchers at that. For 60.00 squids a
problem(possibly) solved.
Well I got mine because of my knackered shoulder, but three pals have seen
and two have ridden the Zed since I put 'em on and all of 'em think they're
an improvement on the standard, plus they can be set higher OR lower than
the originals and closer or further away from the seat. All with an Alan key
and 5 minutes playing.

I thought they'd only be on until I've had the necessary op on my shoulder,
but now they're on, they're staying on.
I have the blood stains on a set of gloves to demonstrate.

In all other respects the 'Bird is actually quite good, but still not a
patch on the Trophy for munching miles.
Heli Bars?

Not cheap, but I'd have got rid of the 'bird years ago without them.
I have a set of Gilles clip-ons with optional 75mm risers, I might just
ft them to the Gixer sometime, just to see what they are like.
