Clutch chatter on a 1983 Honda Goldwing

I just recently bought a 1983 Aspencade and though it runs
fantastically I have a fair bit of clutch chatter in 1st gear only. It
is not too bad with just me on the bike but I have a job to get moving
initially.
I have tried to adjust the clutch cable to get that 3/8 - 3/4 inch play
before my clutch engages but am at just about my best setting.
The bike has 127,000 klm on it and my feeling are that rather than just
pull the rear wheel off to adjust the clutch, I should replace it and
then be done with it.
Is there anything else I should look at?
Probably a pressure plate bearing. Cltuch itself is probably fine.
I'm pretty sure that you have to remove the motor for clutch work, so
even if the clutch itself is fine, just replace anything and
everything. Replace the cable too because it's very easy to do with the
motor out. A complete b*tch if it's in.
Check the basket for grooves and replace it if you can't emery cloth it
smooth...
