New clutch

I put a new clutch in the Pan today (friction plates + spring kit from
Dave Silver). What a transformation! You may remember I thought that it
wasn't as grunty as I had hoped? Well now it's much better.

I had thought the clutch was slightly suspect when I bought the bike,
but as I couldn't test ride it I tried stalling the engine a couple of
times - and that seemed ok.

However, I noticed a few times on WFO at peak torque ('bout 4000 rpm
IIRC) the clutch was slipping so I knew it was time for a new one.
Funny thing is, the old one didn't look that bad, springs were almost
as long, plates didn't look so worn.

Decided to go with genuine Honda bits, fitted it all without problems
and now it's great. Loads more torque (it must have been slipping
nearly all the time), gearchanges are silent (it crunched before).

Sunny weather too.

Sorted. I'm a happy bunny.

Now all I need is a job.
Fix someone else's clutch
Anyone need a new clutch/carbs ultrasonically cleaned/gearbox swap/time
sorted/valve clearances/oil changes/er....other jobs on yer bike doing?

It's not my "real" job, but I can do it.
Hmm. Where do you live, & how are you on cars?
Drop me an e-mail if you're serious. I've done stuff like head gaskets,
rings, broken cambelts + new valves etc. on petrol + diesels. Don't
have the expensive diagnostic stuff for modern cars, though I know
someone who does.
'timing' that would be
