ot: web hosting requirement

I have a requirement to host some content that can be used as a
information portal during some sort of vaguely specified emergency or
exceptional operating condition.
Can't you piggy-back off some of our stuff?
You know, I hadn't thought of that - I'll mention it to the BCP
wallas. Do you have some sort of CMS running over there?
We do, but I was thinking more you could just stuff
a machine in our server room in SF (and another in our
backup facility in Fairfield) and do what you like with it.
I'll mention it - there'll probably be some political reason why not,
of course.
Well, they keep mentioning "improving links" so I guess this
is an ideal opportunity to do it.

PS. Got my invite for the drinks^H^H staff meeting yesterday and
our CEO is encouraging us all to attend. Would be rude not to.
I'll see you Thursday week then.

The criteria are:

* as near 100% uptime guaranteed as possible
* probably hosted in the US as major disruption to European networks
is one scenario this is to ward against - co-located options will be
Presumably if European networks are that severely disrupted, a web page
hosted anywhere in the world is as much use as a cock-flavoured lollipop to
your (presumably European) customers?

Given the near-cataclysm that would precipitate such a state of affairs, I'd
be considering boosting the power of the app servers that handle your online
claims forms, too ;-)

strongly preferred
* needs to have some easy-to-use Content Management facility
* needs to have all content hidden behind a login screen
* there won't be much content - just a few pages
* monthly bandwidth isn't so much of an issue of peak load scaling, as
we'd expect all the hits to come within a short space of time.
* cost isn't an issue

Any suggestions?

I have FGI but there are far too many options to choose from - I'd
like personal experience and recommendations if possible.
Given your requirements definition and the USA/European communication
angle only one company comes to mind.
Obviously I'm not completely un-biased but for Transatlantic I think my
advice stand up to scrutiny
I use hostmysite.com for my tour booking sites. Based in Delaware, they
have genuine 24/7 support and have been superb in every respect.
thanks - I'll take a look.
