DVD storage options

I've got a lot of burned DVDs - a good few hundred.

=20

Previously, I've been using AMPS soft cases from SVP, but I've got too
many now. I've had a look at the hard case options at SVP, in terms of
"DJ" style cases, but they don't get a good write-up (not good quality,
at least the ones SVP have in stock).

Anyone got any recommendations?
Got this today - holds 500 DVDs costs £30, might be interesting

That's what I was looking at - well I was looking at the AMPS versions=20
on SVP's site, but same donkey.

Can you let me know what it's like to use from " flick through lots of=20
DVDs" aspect, once you've bunged lots in? Ta.
I use the plastic tube case things they come in. Stores 100 in one go.
Of course the one I want is always number 99 in the pile.
Personally I'd not entrust anything of value to burned DVDs. As a
medium of transport they're great, but archival quality? A year,
probably. 5 years, possibly.

500GB USB drives are the way here if it's something you want to keep
*and get back*.

Now, once again; does anyone know of a decent DVD storage option for
lots and lots of DVDs?

Hint: 95% of the DVDs I burned 5 years ago work just fine, in all my
players, coz I burned them correctly the first time around, using decent
media, and things have got a *lot* better since then.
Only 95%? That's a potential 5% loss, in just 5 years. What about
after 10, or 20?

Plus, of course, I have about 5,000 gig worth of DVDs. That's what we
refer to as "a lot". Are you seriously suggesting chaining 10 x 500 gig
drives together?
I'm just saying that, if it was my own money and my own personal data
which I valued, then I would.

However, it's your money and your data.
