Unhappy chain guard



After coming back from a quick blat to see if the B6 still worked (it

It's not meant to look like that, is it? I never felt a thing so it
could have been hanging off for most of the journey.

New bolt fitted.
The amount of plastic missing from the inside of the guard should tell
you how long it was like that. The fact that the tops of each chain
link look a little shiny would lead me to think "a while".
The chain guard was attached last Saturday when I got home as I lubed
the chain. The bolt must have had enough and jumped off sometime on
my 10 mile circular route today.
It's been like that since BoSM.
A quick visual check *before* riding is a good idea.
If I did that then I'd never ride the thing.
Er, Nick, that's why he said a "quick visual check". You don't need to
do it before every ride, but say, once a week.


Then feel that nothing is loose every time you clean it.
(You do clean it, don't you?)
I clean it once every three months even if it doesn't need it.
