OT- 4x4

I'm thinking of buying a 2006 Toyota Tundra 4X4 Limited Access Cab with a
bunch of suspension goodies added.
"Limited Access Cab"? Does that mean the doors are rusted shut and you have crawl in through the window?

This is basically because I found it impossible for my 2004 2x4 Tundra
(which I love) to make it up to Cat's cabin in the winter. I tried chains,
weights for the back and she still won't go up her street and the driveway.

My only other choice, and I'm having difficulty getting a Ford Dealer to
respond, is an Extended Bed, Limited Access Cab, F150 4x4. At 1.9% interest
and about $1000.00 worth of extra goodies.

The bed is long enough to where even my Harley could be in the back with the
tailgate shut.
You sir, are plonked until your Harley is History.

piddie -- it's the only way to deal with his kind.
Too easy...

Any comments or reviews on V8 pickup trucks?

AND, will a 4x4 pickup truck make a big difference in traction in snow and
ice, considering there will still be little weight in the back?
Find an excuse to keep some cargo in the back and make sure you bring chains for all 4 corners.

I had to take my 3/4T down a ski trail to recover a lowered Mazda, and chains make a big difference.
Of course, the winch helped too.
There's a twelve-year-old Mazda B4000SE 5-sp 4x4 in my driveway here
near Rochester, NY. It goes anywhere, without adding weight in the back,
unless the snow is so deep that it lifts the belly of the truck off the
ground (happens rarely). Otherwise, no problems at all.

I'm sure other 4x4 pickup owners will tell you the same.

Cat's Jeep Grand Cherokee runs up there like it was nothing. The dealer reps
tell me the Toyota with the TRD package and Bilstein Shocks will perform
even better.

Still, I love my truck and this one is about $12,000 more than I paid for
mine and is EXACTLY the same outside and in, except for the 4x4 features and
upgraded suspension.
