cleaning fuel filter choked with 15 year old TT fuel!

Any suggestions for a good solvent to clear the brass mesh. Have been trying
paraffin, gunk and detergent and am not getting very far.

Err... carb cleaner? The Wynne's aerosol stuff is excellent at
disolving petrol varnish.

Thanks, its basking in a can of coke original now. will give that ago before
venturing to the big city for carb cleaner.
