I think the not mainstream enough for daytime TV warning lights must
have been flashing. I almost switched off when they cut to that lame
act from brazil, or wherever it was. Giant dancing cartoon animals,
FFS, save it for Eurovision.

About as affective as Live 8 or the middle classes marching on London
in protest about the war.
The environment is the current fashionable cause. It used to be AIDs.

Whilst I agree with you on the aspect of fashion politics [1] I think the
February 2003 march against the war was a little more than the hand
wringing middle classes [2].
[1] Obviously poverty is now history as everyone's stopped wearing
the wrist bands.

surprised no-one takes you seriously"

I was at the recording of the pilot for a new R4 show he's trying to
get going - he's a lot funnier in the bits they obviously edit out
before his stuff gets to air.
