Bike in pieces...okay so far...

So with 60F+ weather hanging around now ( while the midwest gets a dose of
what we had..BBWWAHHAAHHAAA!! ) I checked on the bike, caught it right in
the carburetors being finished, valve adjustment starting phase, so of
course I rushed out to the shop to look.

There it was, pieces everywhere, high on a work stand. The carburetors had
just been finished, the flat spot off idle I noticed was apparently some
gummed up pilots, which wasn't a surprise. The jetting was pretty much left
sea-level spec, which was at my request. The way the pipes look, I'm keeping
the leftover parts from the kit because there is a chance they'll be rusted
out and gone within a years use.

The inside of the cases above the valves looked pretty good, about half the
valves were tight, with an occasional loose one. It has been supposed that
this is the first time the valve cover had been off, or the carburetors
removed. Lots of gaskets around which looked pretty good, the oil cooler
does NOT have a bottom drain so to get it drained its going to be a pain.
The front end was coming off in the afternoon for the springs, seals and
such, brake pads and new fluid all around. With luck it'll be done by lunch
today and I'm considering taking off the afternoon just to go ride and see
how it all works.
