Newbie biker to the group...question...

Hiya Guy's and Gals.

I'm a newbie. Just bought a Harley, 95' FLSTC...and I'm having some problems
which I hope somebody might shed some light on.

Trailered the bike home yesterday...got it off the trailer today and been
making laps around the block (no tag yet). This bike has 16,500 miles on it.
Not bad for a 10 year old bike. Clean as a new penny and runs great...except
for a small problem.

Now I HOPE this is just a slight timing adjustment kinda fix...but...When
accelerating...up to a point its pretty smooth as long as you dont "Pour the
Coal" to it...it's OK...but...if you really "Wind her out"...she starts
skiping and backfiring and blow back through the carb...not REAL bad...but
bad enough to embaress yourself...know what I mean?

If you just turn some throttle in and wait for her to spool up...and hold
what you got, then shift, it's not too bad. This is my first "big" Harley.
Had a CB 160, and a Norten 750 many MANY years and about 100 lbs. Ago. Do I
just need to learn the "Quirks" of the bike or is there a problem?

1340 cc Evolution Carb'ed...Screamin Eagle pipes. Heritage Softail classic
(but then you knew that, right)?

So...whattda'ya think?...timing (I hope) or...carb setting. If you need any
more info let me know...I'l do the best I can.

Thanks for any comments.

Dave...Down in Florida.
