Street Bob Added to the Stable

Hey, I'm celebrating, so the drinks are on me today. I just finished
Thanks fer the drink, CongRATS on the new ride!

the paper work, having bought an '07 Street Bob.
Nice bike. You'll have to tell us how the Dyna handles with the new
frame and all.
Congrats on the new bike!
Congrats!

Gonna have to change that tag now, huh? (:-{)}
Heh, heh. Well, technically, I think I can keep the handle - so long
as I still have the Road Glide.

Mild Bill
Road Glidin' Bob?
That sounds better than Bob Glidin' Don.
Congrats, Don, on the new scoot.
Congrats Don! That is such a great bike. I bet that now that Nikeeya is
used to her Sporty she'll really like the Street Bob's power and 6th
gear so maybe you guys will be fighting over it.
Thanks. And yep, the fact that she's intrigued about riding it made
it a much easier matter to agree on.
Good going! For my street bike I'm thinking
about a Softail Springer FLSTSC and trying to ignore
(2008 - 1948 = ) 60 years of progress.

I still like my '98 Road Glide (no intention of selling it because
it's great for long trips) but, for awhile now, I've been hankering
for a smaller bike to boot around the city and for going back and
forth to work on. For me, the Street Bob will fill the bill nicely
and result in fewer miles on the RG ( >100K mi. on it now). I've
always liked the way Dynas handle.

In a previous thread I was asking about the advisability of getting
the denim black finish and I appreciated the comments. So what did I
do as a result all the wise council? Went and bought the denim black
no gettin' through some guys, huh?

In the end I figured that, with the right care, I should be able to
manage the wear-potential of that denim finish. Had to go with the
look I liked.

Before the new bike rolls out the door of the dealership (end of next
week), I'm having them install the Stage 1 and new pipes (Screamin'
Eagle III, side slash). Got a pillion pad and passenger pegs for it
too, 'cause the little woman will want to be on back once in awhile.

After finalizing the deal I went to take a look at the bike - which
they had shipped it in for me from another dealer (I didn't want to
wait on a March build with the strike and all).

I take a look and... Hey, this bike has forward controls already!

I guess the other dealer had forgotten they put them on the bike, as I
wasn't charged for them. So there's 6 or 7 hundred bucks I won't have
to spend later (at 6' 2", I probably would have changed from the mid
controls after riding it awhile).

So, anyhow, this what you could call a good day. Even the weather in
Edmonton is cooperating - warming up to above zero. I could be
scootin' around in no time!
Hey, congrats on the new ride. I hope that the weather gets nice
enough for you to be able to give us a ride report.

Beers are on me.
Thanks Kestrel. Good timing for another beer.

Just got in from the garage, having finished my wife's bike. Put on
the Stage 1 air kit, rejetted the carb, put some Screamin' Eagle II
pipes on [1] and, just minutes ago, fired it up. Runs sweeeeeeet.
The missus is still grinnin'.

Important to do something like that, when you're getting spoiled with
a new ride, I think. Then it's a little like we're both getting
something new.
