Congrats To Grizz!
|
He was high bidder for the HD rain gear on the EKIII auction.
Thanks again for your generosity Grizz.

Christmas must be coming early to the Grizz household, first the boots then
this. He's on a spending spree. Hey Grizz, my birthday is coming up soon.
|
well, let me know when, and we'll get together and tell some lies. I'll
probably get you the same thing I got you last year, only in blue this
time. Did you ride today. I looked at the forecast but didn't listen to
it. High of 4c, and snow/rain mix. I figured, 4c, it may fall, but won't
stick. The roads were a little greasy on the way home this afternoon. I
could see the tracks of the car in front of me. When I got out of town, and
on the highway, things improved. Wasn't as bad as last weeks ride, but I
think I'll listen to the forecast tomorrow. I may have to start picking my
riding days a little more cautiously.
|
Yep, I rode. I could see some snow falling during the day but by the time
5pm rolled around there was nothing but some rain. The bike doesn't like to
sit in the rain, gave me some greif starting up. I've got to find out what
that's all abouto and what I need to dry off before starting it. I thought
I had the air intake pretty much covered with the lap blanket but apparently
that's not the case. I got it going eventually, this is the third time the
rain has delayed my departure from work by 10-15 minutes.
|
Les had a situation at the very first Snow Run where the rain actually
ran down the throttle cable into the carb bowl. I believe a dab of
silicone where the cable housing meets the carb fixed it.
|
A rubber cap made to fit the Amal carb and silicone inside that, around
the cable. Works great...

Well that's easy to fix. You'll have to leave work 15-20 minutes early on
rainy days.
I may be caging it tomorrow. Rainfall warning and all. The cover of my
sidebag blew off yesterday. Had to ride almost 3/4 of the way home to find
it. My rain pants blew out of the sidebag. I noticed a set of tracks on the
shoulder near the cover so I'm guessing someone needed them more than me.
ohh well, I've got a set of rain gear on the way. Almost would have been
happier to find the rainpants than the cover. There's a cover at Toad's. I
can't replace the pants(insulated), but I can replace the cover. Was
travelling a bit quick this morning on the way in to work, Police officer on
the way out notices, and slows *real* quick. I let off the throttle and
moved to the side of the road expecting to get stopped. He speeds up and
continues on his way. Happened about a month ago too. I'm guessing he won't
be so generous if there's a third time. I guess it's time to start getting
out of bed when the alarm goes off.

Hmmmmmmmm, there used to be an old saying "if it looks like a gas problem it's probably an
electric problem" and visa versa. With that in mind, the next time it gets rainy spray your
spark plug wires, coil, etc. with WD-40 and see if that helps.

I just bid on some nifty stuff. Thank you for your generous donation to the
EKIII auction.
The raingear would have been real useful on last weeks trip. I'll post a
report about it.
|
Shirley a round for all the bidders! Better luck next time George, &
|
It's not an Island!, but I can't argue the other points.. Got blown all
over hell's half acre last week on a trip to New Brunswick, in a nice cold
hail. Things did improve though. The wind died down, and the hail turned to
sleet.

Kickstart ;-)
