Come on then, own up.
Anyone here got a criminal record, that they didn't know they had?
Dunno. There's bound to be somebody out there who is a bad person and is
called Smith that I could be confused with. In fact, on a likelihood due to
similar names basis, I should probably expect to be shot down in the street
any day now.
How would we know? Can I phone up the CRB and ask whether I'm on the list?
Unfortunately not. I think.
According to the Daily Mail which, I admniot, may not be entirely
and the police say "It's the Home Office's fault".
I think this goes back to something we were discussing earlier. You can
only cut back, out source and "marketize" certain things, certain
amounts. I suspect we may have found the Civil Service's limit.
Absolutely.
And I've discovered you *can* see if you've a criminal record or not,
on payment of a =A334 fee. Didn't know that.
Unless you'd been given one by mistake you mean?
Lemme guess, a combination of the Freedom Of Information Act, and the
Data Protection Act?
All I know is that if there are are no-win no-fee defamation lawyers out
there, they're probably rubbing their hands.
I found one by Boyzone the other day.
Is this your 'coming out' post?
You asking?
Did it look like I was asking?
The question mark gave it away.

Of course, the entertaining thing is waiting for the mistakes that have
been made the other way to come to light.

We're hardly going to be able to afford ID cards with all these new nukes
we're slinging up.
