Global warming test!
|
Only the non-indoctrinated will pass.
|
Cite please. ;^) Oh and Gore is a bigger liar than the sheriff!
|
Nope. In fact, Gore, for all his faults, has ahould of a much bigger piece
of the truth than the current administration; who wouldn't know the truth if
you gave 'em a truth enema.
|
Yes. He does.
|
The ignorant vs the psychotic. This should be fun!
|
The rest of us -and I'm including most of the non-nutball right here- have
now moved past that and are considering not the reality of global warming,
but what we need to do about it, how soon, and how much it's going to cost.
|
Is any of it going to help the global warming that's occurring on Mars
as well?
|
The Mars global warming is easily explained by all of those Rovers we
sent there to explore the planet. They must be emitting massive
amounts of CO2.
|
|
Your reply says far more than you think it does about a *very*
reasonable question: Why is the temp on Mars increasing? Your answer:
"I don't care. My eyes are shut, I'm putting my fingers in my ears and
yelling daaaddaaaaadaaaa, so I won't hear anything else about it."
|
I think it's fair to point out that even the paranoid can have real enemies,
and hypochondriacs can really be sick from time to time. I don't mind
acknowledging that I don't know. How can I know? I don't have all the facts.
The only notion I'm going by is Gore's presentation standing in the bucket
of a cherry picker, illustrating the scale of recent warming compared to
past trends. I don't know where he gets his numbers. I don't recall clearly
if they were measured data, rather than estimates or projections. I don't
know how they were measured, and if they preclude other contributions. I
don't know if the same methods that plotted the historical trends will
measure this apparent recent spike, in the distant future. Do you know? Care
to share?
Also, I'm bothered by his assertion that daylight is measurably weaker now
than in the past. The implication is that the atmosphere is absorbing and
retaining more of the energy. This seems consistent with "blaming"
greenhouse effect for the warming. It is not immediately apparent that this
is consistent with your explanation of changes in the sun. A spectral shift
from visible toward infrared might explain it, but I haven't heard it
explained that way. A shift in orbit leading to a warming trend should show
an *increase*, not a decrease, in solar brightness. It seems to me that one
of the three is in error. Comments?
|
|
Ah, were it only true! Alas for you, it's not.
What's actually happening here is that science has formed it's conclusions
and moved on, while the politically motivated complainers continue to
whine -just like the Creationists in Kansas- "If you won't keep debating
with me forever and ever it must mean that you can't defend your position,
and therefore I'm right!"
Need we say anything further about *that* sort of argument?
As I stated before; the evidence is in, the meeting is closed, and unless
you happen to be a professional climatologist with a lifetime of research
spent in this field -and you have some *AMAZING* new proof to reveal- you
simply have nothing useful to contribute to the discussion.
|
Hear, hear. You're spot on with this.
|
As Timberwoof has pointed out several times in the past, "Everyone's
entitled to an opinion. The mistake they make is thinking that that makes
their opinions just as good as anyone else's."
|
Well, while certainly I agree with that, what I actually say a lot is,
"Opinions are like asses: only well-formed ones should be displayed in
public."
|
|
Look, I don't think anyone here disputes the fact that the globe is
warming, but ignoring the *fact* that the *sun* has more to do with it
than humans do makes you doomsayers look pretty dern silly. The
religious folks that believes Co2 emmisions is the chief cause of it,
is just silly. Thinking a government actually *fix* it is even more
laughable. Why?
If you look into all the new proposed laws as well as every existing
environmental laws only affect non-government enterprises. Meanwhile
the goverments agencies themselves who are known the world over the
largest Co2 producers, get away with "polluting" with no Co2
regulation at all. You've heard of many business being shut down by
these laws. Have you *ever* heard of a federal agency being fined?
Cleaned up? Shut down? Ask yourself "Why would they do this?"
It's all just a huge governmental power grab. One that Al Gore has
amazingly positioned himself to make millions from, but *only* if he
can convince us all of this so-called science.
It's a huge hoax, and you've fallen for it. Hook, line and sinker.

|
In other words you agree that you are going to ignore proven scientific
fact...you sir are Henry and I claim my 20# of dried morel mushrooms! ;^)
|
Looks as if you may have been nipping at those mushrooms already.
|
Morels are EXCELLENT and endemic to my area...they are also one of the best in
the world. Naturally I choose them. Might even buy a start or two myself.
|
|
|
|
If you wanna sink into a Hen3ry-like "I hate Al Gore, so Global Warming
*MUST* be a lie" cesspool, be my guest, but the debate is over and the cows
have gone home.
|
And I wish somebody would.

1966 BCE

I think that stick may have a few splinters in the handle.
