Paging the FOAK: I've got wood, but it's gone a funny colour - fner fner



I've got this lovely coffee table - a solid wood chest, with 9 drawers
in one side, that I bought from Laura Ashley a few years back, after an
ex bought one and I had to have the same; it's just a lovely, solid
piece of wood, and even the drawers are wood, rather than something
cheaper.

But, sadly, I've gone and been a bit of a silly billy. I was enjoying
some champagne the other week, and with all the condensation and
suchlike I put a towel down on the wood, rather than let the water drip
onto it.

Then I forgot that the towel would remain wet, and when I took it off
yesterday there's some water damage - that white, milky bloom effect,
like a cloud.

What's the cure? Do I have to pay someone to flatten it off and re-

How can water stain an iron towel? Wouldn't it just go rusty?
