OT: Garmin GPS speed camera downloads

Just got my Garmin Nuvi 310D and a lovely little bit of kit it is, nice and
easy to use for a newbie like me.

However, I'd like to know where I can download a speed camera database for
it, preferably something that warns you in advance! Anyone able to point me
I use radarfalle.de, which had a one-off subscription of 10Eu. It's
the only one that lists the Swiss cameras in a downloadable format.

in the right direction please?

...

Nowt yet...
Hmm. It definately went...

Ah! There we are... Cheers.

More pics up btw if you didn't know already.

I wonder if Plusnet is on a go-slow today....
obligation to subscribe every month), or £16 a year (or something). You
get free updates for life if you report a camera that they don't already
know about.
Try downloadin POIedit, it's free and allows you to download POI's
from many sources, including Pocket GPS, for free (my favourite cost).
How does it do that?
It pulls down the xml listing of the available POIs from each
specified source site, like pocketgps, and then allows you to choose
which POIs you want it to check and download. For the Garmin you can
then use POIloader to put them on your device.

No idea how it gets round not having to have a specific user account
for each, but it does. I use it with TomTom on my iPaq, and it even
runs itself whenever I synchronise and updates straight onto my SD
card.
I think it might work for that model. Works well with most PDA based
devices.

And allows you to download POIs for lots of things. And also does an
auto-update when GPS thingy connected to net
The advance warning is done by the gps unit itself. You download the
locations as Points Of Interest of a specific type, then programm an
alert at a certain distance (I use 400m) from any POIs of this type.
