OT: Ipaq Problem
|
Thought I'd ask here, as I occasionally get good info.
It appears that I've let the battery on my ipaq discharge completely.
It's totally lifeless.
I've put it on charge, but there's no indication that it's charging.
The charger is fine - I also use it to charge my tomtom GPS receiver.
How big a problem is this?
Will it all suddenly come back to life, by the time I get home from
work?
If not, how can I fix it?
|
My 3715 did exectly the same and recovered after a charge *apart* from
forgetting all the stuff I had installed.
You could always try the hard reset[1] whilst it's on the charger.
[1] The lack of saying how to do this is because I can't remember but it
involves more than sticking the stylus through the hole like you do for
a soft one.
Something about holding down buttons then turning it on, possibly
sticking the stylus in the hole at the same time.
Or was that SWMBOs little "foreplay" chat?

Try this. I used to have the same problem with my 5550
|
I parsed that as SS50 and wondered what a 30 year-old Honda moped had
to do with anything. Apart from switching the thread to be on topic,
that is.

Nice one - all fixed now!
Thanks all.

Which Ipaq model is it?
There are various ways (of which Cabs post about a full hardware
reset/battery recalibrate is the common fix for the 55xx series) of
convincing an Ipaq to attempt to charge a totally depleted battery.
On the 38xx/39xx series, same method as above except the hard reset by
performed by pressing buttons 1, 4, power and reset button with the stylus,
for example.
Is it even trying to fire up on AC power?
