ot: New phone time.
|
I know this always sparks loads of conflicting opinions but hear goes
anyway.
I've been offered an upgrade from Orange[1]. Last time I took free
texts and reduced monthly charges as they didn't have a phone I was
interested in. This time however I like the look of the Nokia[2] N70.
It does all the things I need so I'm tempted.

You sound like a stuck record. With all due respect.

Mio A701 is the new king[1]. Windows Mobile 5.0 with built in GPS receiver
[1] I typoed "kink" kere and was tempted to leave it as it still seemed
true.

My business partner recently had a bad experience with the SPV M5000.
It did everything except be a usable phone and have a battery life.
He's stopped using and reverted to his old 6600.
|
That's what I was thinking for my new phone there's a review here
|
So, has anyone any experience of the N70?
|
I like my N70 but it's a tad slow on menu navigation. Battery life is
good, the camera is fine and the bluetooth part is spot on.
|
That's what I needed to hear. I'll get one.
|
I wouldn't go back to a Windows CE phone if you paid me (I had the
M2000 before [1]).
[1] Rather, I had 5 of them, as Orange kept on bunging me phones to fix
a problem that I thought was on the network side.
|
[1] My business account is with them and I have no plans to change so
I'm not worried about being tied in for another 12 months.
[2] I like Nokia phones. All the phones on the account are Nokia and
therefore all the accessories work on all the phones.

The SPV is a decent business tool 9-5 on the move and when you can
charge it regularly, best used with a headset. I've reverted to a V3 and
a second sim card for general use though. The contact directory is pants
but everything else seems ok.

My SO worked on the N70 when she was with Nokia and has one, it seems
very good, does everything it says on the tin. The best feature imo is
the gallery, very nicely done (the camera is superb).
