Let the waiting begin
|
I know it's fairly early on a Monday morning, but I'm having a drink,
coffee's on, scones are ready, but I'm having a beer and some left over
pizza.
I've purchased my fair share of things on E-Bay, but this is the first time
I've ordered something off E-Bay from Germany, so I'm keeping my fingers
crossed that all goes well and that I'm not nailed with some huge charge
from the customs folks. I paid a little extra to have it in time for our
trip to New Hampshire next month, which is supposed to be 1 week delicery
instead of the normal 6 from over there. So I'm starting to countdown and
hoping that it arrives.
What did I order? Well the canvas tonneau cover on the Ural ain't holding
up so well, so I decided to order an "improved" one from a guy over that
that makes a lot of them. I saw one on a Gear Up, actually in the picture
below, and thought it looked great, so I took the plunge.

The seller just emailed me the installation instructions (you have to add a
couple new connection points), a good sign.
|
I also ordered a door for when there's someone in the hack to help keep the
wind from coming in the side, same material/color as the cover, only it just
connects up on the side to cover the door opening. I assume the vinyl
(assuming that's what it is) of the regular covers likely hold up better
than the canvas on the camo versions, so I'm hoping this one, which is
supposed to be better than the stock vinyl ones, will be much better than my
already tattered canvas one. I hope the wife doesn't mind having the green
door with the black skirt on the sidecar windshield, I don't want to offend
her sense of fashion.
