Sainsburys LBV Port - just say no..
Cos even though it's only £6.99 a bottle its actually not even worth
that.
They seem to have bottles of Dow's somethingorother at half price (under
6 quid a bottle) on a fairly regular basis round my way. Good for
guzzling by any standards.
It's bland, lacking in any subtlety of flavour and doesn't even
particularly taste nice..
Phil. Sainsburys - Just say no..
Some of their own-label whiskys are quite nice..
for cheap(ish) Port, I've been drinking Warres Warrior recently - not
too shabby.
Do keep up. WW is *the* every day drinking Port choice of Gentlemen
I down the occasional bottle of that myself. Good it is.
I do find myself treating it like red wine i.e. open a bottle -> drink
a bottle.
Is there any other way to drink it?
apparently - get this! - some people put the cork back in the bottle
after they've taken it out.
I know! Unbelievable.
If it's Port it really does go off quite quickly
Well Port doesn't keep. It should always be finished promptly on
opening.
Heh. I had to stop buying it frequently for that very reason.
I restrict myself to 3-4 decent bottles a year now.
I'll give it a try. It might tide me through until Laithwaites gets in
some more of my usual..
WW has been my cheapie port of choice ever since Snowy recommended it to
me.
I've got a bottle of M&S "Chocolate Ruby" here ATM; I'm too scared to
open it, if truth be told.
They do sell PG tea though, which is just as well for an non drinker.
I only do vintage these days
snip
But it's ace for marinading end of season cock-birds in. 'Bout three or four
days in it then turn the port into gravy.
