Eazi come, Eazi go.

I've been spannering my vehicles for around 34 years, & never had need
for a stud/screw extractor until yesterday, when I needed to use them -
twice.

I now have two extractors snapped off inside two bleed nipples. Arse.
Aaaaaaaa, the dreaded stuck bleed nipple, the central void screaming
"pre-dilled for an easi-out"......
Never had it work, generally bleed nipples are very much harder than their
surroundings in quality brake parts and rather akin to butter in cheap ones.
May I humbly and respectfully suggest that leaving said nipple in contact
with a soldering iron for a while(1) is more likely to generate a succesful
outcome than easi-outs. Of course telling you that after the central
drilling is filled with hardened steel is of little comfort but it may be
worth a try next time, or even now, especially if the soldering iron is of a
type suitable for soldering heavy duty cable...... The soldering iron is
also useful for the initial removal of old woodscrews, especially ones that
have been long covered in paint.. There are those who have been known to
use them for the application, and removal of solder, too...

(1) the time required will depend on how shiny the nipple is and how big the
iron is but when I were smoker it were time to light the pipe

Cheers

You need some new ones:

Very good seller. Lots of +ve feedback.
You want a Harris[1] mount for that steering damper?
er, what steering damper - the one I've just sold?
Did you? D'Oh. It's monday and I've only had one
coffee so far; I'm not quite with it yet.

I've got a few kicking around here from a stock
clear-out, so let me know your address and
I'll chuck it in the post.

[1] If you don't want the Harris marked one
I have plain ones as well.
Hmm. "Broken screw extractors", eh? Krusty already has two of them.

And it's "shear" not "sheer", "sheared" not "sheered", not to mention
it should be "an" not "and", followed by "any" rather than "and" btw.

How this semi-literate has accumulated so much pos feeback is beyond
me.
I have a snap-on extractor set. The 2 and 4 mm versions broke when used
long ago. Yesterday I tried the 6mm to remove a cheese screw from an
alloy bar......it broke.

On the up-side my new cobalt drills ate the extractor.
