paging for FOAK or Cane and Simian
when hiring a van nicely big enough for three bikes for a roundtrip
from Her Majesty's South Easth to Cadwell, do you pick a LWB hi-top
transit for 120quid and fanny around with a plank, or choose the 200
quid option to get a tail-lift luton van?
It's the laziness -v- tightness debate.
Tail-lift, without a shadow of a doubt. They make life just so much
easier, unless you have a proper ramp.
some high tops now have a very low floor level
Tail lift, not least because one of you is bound to bin a bike so badly
that it will be physically impossible to push it up a plank.
Tail lift. Between you and Cane you can afford it.
of course I can afford it - it's more a case of whether it's worth it.
With three or four bikes to do it'll be worth it. Don't forget you'll
have to source a plank. I know they're only £8 new from SGB but you've
got to get over to the scaffold place etc etc.
Simian.... well... he can hold the drinks or something.
We're going to do Cadwell sober this time - imagine!
Actually, paging Sweller - this could be the decider - would you be
around on the morning of Saturday 17th to take delivery of a manky old
R65LS?
Morning will be a problem, I'm working until 16.00 ish.
arse. If I have to hang on to the van until Monday, it's another 100
quid.
Some other time.
