OT: Anyone know about digital pianos?
|
I lost the pedal for my Clavinova when we last moved house, so bought a
new, better one last week.
The only problem is that it appears to be switched the wrong way around,
IYSWIM.
My theory is that all I need do is swap the wires over in the pedal
body.
Anyone know if this is the case?
|
Depending on the model, there are probably three contacts on the
microswitch - push-to-make, push-to-break and ground. Leave the
ground as it is and swap the other wire over. Either that or buy a
switchable one.
|
Cheers, I'll have a look at it.
This one is obviously wired as push to break. Which is odd, as I assumed
they were all the same.

Yes, it's not. Yamaha and Technics have one type, Roland have another and
although one would assume they're interchangeable, they're not. I can use my
Yamaha pedal with my Technics piano but I couldn't use the Roland with
anything but the Roland.
I reckon a trip back to the shop should soon see you sorted though.

Bought on eBay, which could make things a bit tricky - although it was
from a proper business.
|
Lob it up here next time you're around and I'll solder it for you.
|
It's not so much the soldering as the taking things apart only to discover
that soldering won't have the desired effect. You're stuck with something
that doesn't work and you can't return it for an exchange.
|
Ahh well, it's only a piano ;)
|
Nah, 'tis only a pedal :)
