Paging Triumph Tiger-isti
|
Can someone who has the manual for a Triumph Tiger 955i ('04 model or
whatever) let me know what the 18,000 mile service consists of?
|
Do you not like it, or just changing it because?
|
|
About 200 quid.
|
Not too bad, but I'm currently having an annoyed/concerned moment with
the dealer in Woking. The advert promised
|
You could always tell 'em to keep it & buy my PINK one instead... It's
|
Orange>Pink
Frying Pan>Fire
|
an '03, but with half the mileage of that one. It's got crashbars too -
& a Scottoiler 'n' everyfink.
|
I thought you'd be using that one for the Elefantreffen?
|
Nah, I'll use the RatTig if I go.

that it would have the 18k service done prior to collection. I
emailed him earlier on today and he's replied saying that the "oil
service" has been done and the book stamped and the MOT is booked for
tomorrow afternoon.
The link Scraggy lists the following for the 18k service:
Change engine oil and filter
Check engine ECM for stored DTCs
Check and adjust throttle cable
Balance throttle bodies
Check and adjust coolant level
Check cooling system
Check fuel system
Check steering head
Check forks for smooth operation
Check brake fluid levels
Check wear on brake pads
Check all electrical, lights and instrument panels
Check and adjust drive chain
Inspect and torque all fasteners, nuts and bolts to spec
Inspect wheels
Check tire pressure and wear
Check and adjust clutch cable
Road Test Motorcycle
Okay, it's mostly a squint (apart from 'Balance throttle bodies' and
drive chain adjustment) and a prod but I wasn't overly impressed at
the term "oil service" being used.
I've emailed the dealer back quoting the above and asking what exactly
has been done vs what the advert stated.
|
He replied back this mornign stating that everything will be done on
the Triumph service list apart from checking the ECU for stored DTCs.
I'm happy.

Any use?

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
