Boots
My boots (dunno what brand they are) are about 5 years old and becoming=20
tatty. They're not "fashionable" - just a pair of black motorcycle=20
boots. But they are 100% waterproof (have survived extremes of rain for=20
long preiods of time) and are all-day comfortable. They were around =A380.
I am looking for the comfort and waterproof attributes in a new pair=20
though I think I would like a little more ankle/heel protection (these=20
are cushioned but don't seem terribly tough).
Any recommendations?=20

Depends what size feet you have. I've got a pair of very lightly used Hein
Gericke Gore-tex boots I'm flogging, size 10.
As I prefer lace-ups, I went for Altbergs.
What's the fascination with lace-ups. I find them a complete PITA.
Infinitely adjustable, for a start.
Boots are either done up or not, I can't see the need for adjustment.
Pro-boots are good, too - they can be hard to get in some sizes,
though.

Daytona RoadStar GTX. 5 years, 60K miles and still warm and waterproof.=20
Altbergs if you want to look like a 1930s coal miner or Hermann Munster.
If you, like me, have calf muscles like a prop forward then Daytona do a
Nonstop boot which has an adjustable pleat thingy in the leg. Simple to
adjust using the velcro.
I can't get any trousers inside but both my leathers and cordura trousers
go over the top.
Very comfy off the bike too.
I've got a pair of Altbergs that have been in the loft for 3 or 4 years now.
Worn about twice - they don't match the shape of my feet. I must get around
to sticking them on ebay.
Pick up the boot on the left.
Put it down on the right.
See if they fit now.
Heh. My big toes are straight, the toes of the boots curve in a little too
much, so they press against the sides. It's not painful, just constantly
mildly uncomfortable.
This still works for my daughter sometimes.
It's worth a try before you stick your feet on Ebay.
I might just dip a toe in the water.
That'll be on account of your stumpy little legs.
It's my lack of coordination that makes them a PITA. I still prefer slip
on or velcro fastening shoes.

My Hein Gericke Taureg things are comfortable, waterproof and well
padded IMHO
H-G 10 mins from hee, so will take a look at those. Ta.
I've got the same, Tuareg written on the front, metal on the sides?
Worn all winter (all day, everyday), they're warm, waterproof, and
look rather fetching with a short skirt. Erm, in my opinion.
BTW did you get your mail sorted?
Not yet.=20

All Daytona boots have adjustable calf velcros.
Same with my daughter, and she's 26 soon.

Altbergs or Daytonas, both comfy and waterproof...
Sidi Black Rain are waterproof and I find them comfy. Too hot to wear
in the summer. Then I just use whatever summer boots and Sealskin
I've had a pair of these for about 5 yrs and they've lever leaked even
when in Scotland. TBH I wear them in summer too because owning two
pairs of boots seems wildy extravagant to me. In fact, I'm wearing
them now, and I'm at work.
waterproof socks. Actually I lie, I don't go out in the rain.
Me either, but I frequently come back in it. I've found the SIDI
Vertigo boots to be reasonable in rain providing you close the vents
first.
I have a pair of these too. I cant actually say whether they're
waterproof though as I haven't been out on the bike in the rain since
i bought them last May.
I bought them cos the week before my feet has been *soaked* every day.
maybe I've become the weather god. or just more choosy when I ride!
Which ones were you wearing to Sedan last May? I was seriosuly impressed
with mine remaining watertight in *that* weather... gloves didn't fare
so well..
Daytonas. they leaked like a sieve.
the tuesday I went out and bought sidi black rains.
