FOAK: Webmail service
|
When you're travelling, it's useful to be able to pick up your email
me to setup up to 5 pop3 servers, and manage my email. But now
they're closing down.
So, can anyone recommend a general webmail service that will meet my
needs. To curtail certain avenues, I'm not interested in anything

Always use mail2web.com does exactly what you want, and I use it when on the
move.

that requires me to have a new email address, forward email, or use
webmail all the time. I just want something I can use when not at
home.

gmail.
You can use the webmail interface should you wish or POP3.
You can also configure gmail to send email from champ.org.uk addresses
[1] (and to download stuff from champ.org.uk, IIRC)
For free.
[1] Upon validating said champ.org.uk addresses, of course.

I've used them for years - very good - although I always ned to login under
the advanced option.

Although it conflicts with your requirement to avoid having a new email
address, Yahoo! webmail will allow you to access multiple email accounts
via POP. It's free and relatively painless to sign up, and there's no
requirement to use the Yahoo! addy as the reply-to address.

Could you set some sort of autoforwarding while you were away to a
temporary email account of the type mentioned above?
