Oh the ignominy

Father (73) appear yesterday with a surprise, he's gone and bought himself a
new Jinlun JL125-11!
This cruiser (looks like a Harley in a very bad light, if you squint) is
covered in shiny chrome, with spot-lights, crash bars and panniers.
Now father's dabbled with cruisers before, having had a Virago 1000 and a
Intruder 750, but most of his bikes have been more standard including;
Panther 600 outfit, Matchless G12 Cafe racer, Triumph Thunderbird, MZ150E,
Yamaha XS650, Cub 90(2), Honda CB400A, Aprilia SR125, Cagiva 250 scooter
(just before/after having both knees replaced) and he's still got a Triumph
Tiger 900 - actually quite a mixed bag thinking about it and I know I've
missed some.
Anyway, this Jinlun is a a piece of work. He left is here while they went
away for the weekend and I had a chance to give it the once over. Long-list
short, I found 8 things that would have been MOT failures - mostly loose or
missing bolts, various things misadjusted including throttle and clutch
cables. And it took an hour to get all the plastic film off the forks,
spotlamps and filler cap.
The chrome on the crash bars and exhaust is already showing signs of rust,
and rust is also appearing on the frame where the paint didn't make it;
after two days and 20 miles!
Have these bikes got any redeeming features?
It begs the obvious question - Why?
I'll ask when he gets back....
