Anyone interested in a (my) 2005 V-Strom? (FS)

Looking to sell for cash - no swaps or other ingenious ideas... selling
as I need the cash for something else (and no it's not one of those
operations).
I don't need another, so no.
What sort of something else, then? Turbo Hayabusa? Virago? Or are
you giving up motorcycling?
I'm moving and need the cash.

No bike for the short term, but hopefully in a couple of months will be
something new and shiny, not sure what exactly, but a ZZR1400, GSX-R750
or Sprint ST are likely to be near the top :-)
I thought a GSX-Rnnn was a no-no because of your back (or some other
part of your anatomy)?
They are - back and knees - however considering I ride my bike very
rarely at the moment (and where I'm going is probably going to be even
less - very short bursts or very long tours!), this means that I can
consider something that I can drool at in the garage and enjoy riding
in short bursts - hence the reappearance of the 750. You will note the
other two bikes are more sport tourers though.

I do know it will not be a V-Strom.
Good sales technique there.
Well yes, but as I've had zero interest I suspect it's not going to
make any difference. As I said to Zymurgy, it's a great bike (honestly)
but just isn't the one for me. For someone maybe a bit older, less
bothered by the looks or with different requirements, it will be great
(Muddy loves his) - it's just not stirred my soul and as has been said
here what is the point of a motorcycle if not to do this?
He's joining the UKRM "life changing events in July" clique
August actually.
New woman?
No actually - the old one strangely enough. Long story but that
resolved itself.
Better the devil you know eh?
Hmm - that's all a bit of a change then.
Yes, but I'm hoping one for the better - possibly not in the work sense
(remains to be seen) but certainly in the quality of life sense. Okay
the speed limit is 35mph, but that's almost a metaphor in it's own
right.
Well you are at least escaping the tedium of Didcot for the delights of
a strange small island that is sort of British but dangerously close to
France and populated by tax exiles. I think the speed issue is
irrelevant if overall you believe you are going to be a happier bunny.

No trains to moan about ;-)
I know - what will I do? I know, moan about the 'foreign' people (I
find it rather hard to keep a straight face when people there moan to
_me_ about it - it's not like I can really say anything :-) )
Hardly.

Best of luck.
Thanks. Hopefully we can meet up for lunch before I go.
Yep that would be good.

Moving to Guernsey - so I get to put a nifty four digit black number
plate on the next bike.
With the blanket 35mph limit, you'll be fine.
Exactly. That's why I'm going - if I can't ride fast, I'll just use
legislation to ensure no one notices.
You'll be a riding god over there.
Isn't it 30mph speed limited over the entire island?
It's really a lovely island but a place I couldn't enjoy living day to
day for that very reason.
35 actually, with 25 in many parts - and for good reason in most cases!

However there are opportunities... hence why my choice of bikes is
either a banzai nutter I can ride for 30 minutes, or a sports tourer
-France and UK are options for longer rides.

And pay less tax.
Not that I had a sniff of interest from here ( :) ) but bike is no
longer available as I have managed to sell it elsewhere

Didcot, must be nicked innit......
Of course, and so professionally that even the V5 looks correct.

Looking for =A34250 - I believe that's a good price for the age and
specs of the bike but I'm sure someone will disagree.

If you're interested, email me at bikes@crossdata.co.uk
No thanks.

Does it actually do anything very well ?
It does everything well. I'm selling for the cash, not because I hate
it.

I will admit it wasn't the right bike for me, but that doesn't mean
it's not a competent machine.
