If Kawasaki bikes are so good...

..how come they have very little success in the BSB, WSB and MotoGP?
French pilots?
The main reaason is that they don't spend the money.

In MotoGP, obviously they are racing prototypes and it is all down to
budget, and the quality of the engineers on the race teams.

In superbike (BSB/WSB), the base model (ZX10R) obviously dictates the
starting point, but so much stuff is changed on a full on superbike
nowadays that I don't think it has the biggest impact. It's again
down to personnel and budget. Pretty much the same things that
control success in any enterprise.

Bear in mind too that the difference between winning and 8th (say) is
pretty small at this level.
Not for the teams it isn't.
Aren't Kawasaki commercially in bed with Suzuki now? It might not
make much sense to throw megabucks at two separate efforts, just enough to
keep some brand differentiation.
Kawasuki??

What a weird idea...

(Or is it? :-)
I built a Yamasaki back in 1998 - 1986 Yamaha RD350LC YPVS F1 engine in
a 1989 Kawasaki KR-1 rolling chassis.
Sounds interesting - got a pic by any chance?

Now, I'm trying a sig for the first time ever - is it working? Is it right?
OK, that's a *no* then....(???)
Somewhere, if not I'll pop round and see the bloke I sold it to, he's
Suzuki and Kwak shared a few models, but they were in the cruiser styles and
I don't believe the partnership lasted very long.

still using it.
OK, it'd be good to see a snap of it.

So many of my (S.O.) bikes were 'pre digital' camera and who TF could be
arsed to mess around getting films processed - until the kids came along, of
course....??

(Actually, my earlist bikes were only in B&W!! :-)
I think they share *some* technology. But the fact that GSXR and ZX?R
lines are both continually developed shows they're still 2 very
different companies.
I know Kawasaki _were_ selling the DL1000 rebadged as a Kawasaki but
if I'm not mistaken they've ended their cross-promotion arrangement.
Put Rossi on one and he'll win.
Not on my ER-5 he won't :-)
