Kwak Dilemma - Z750S or ER-6f?

I'm a newish rider looking for my first big bike.
My local Kawasaki dealer has got two new bikes on offer

I don't really see the point in buying a new bike. Get a second hand one and
save yourself some wonga. It'll make you cry less when you drop it.

and they're both about the same price:

1=2E Kwak ER-6f
2=2E Kwak Z750S

The 750 is about =A3400 more. The ER looks cooler
with its plastic dress, but the heavier more musclular
750 looks more like a 'proper' bike. I'm 6ft
and about 14 stone. The head says ER, but the
brain says the 750. Comments?
They're both good bikes. The 600 is probably aimed more obviously at
newbies, but if you're confident then the 750 shouldn't be a problem.
Personally I'd go for the 750, cos it's a four cylinder, which makes
it a 'proper' Kawasaki :-)

Gyp of this parish has a Z750 (a non-S one, without the fairing, tho),
and he seems pretty pleased with it. He'd probably join this thread
if he wasn't trying to bail water out of his kitchen, or whatever DIY
comedy he's performing today.
Are you schizophrenic?
Beeblebroxic, innhe?

(On my Direct Access I was throwing the little
Honda 500 around fairly easily so I reckon the
750 ridden 'sensibly' shouldn't be a major
problem..)
