I popped into Homebase yesterday and they were setting out the Christmas

Setting out? Wow, they're a bit late aren't they?

My local Homebase has its own Christmassy robin installed in store,
flew in from the garden centre apparently.

Missed the summer - not too sure about that TBH, it's not exactly cold
outside but the leaves are doing their best to make the roads that bit
more slippery. Not that they need it round here, actually, as all
surfaces appear to be coated in diesel. Nice.

Not quite, summer ends at 5:15 this afternoon... Plenty of riding time
left then...

There was a bit more summer this afternoon. Did you catch it?

I did.

After a morning finishing up the new integral wine rack and cocking up
the mitre cuts on my new skirting, we ventured off to darkest Wiltshire
and took lunch in my father's blissfully-warm conservatory.

It struck me how much better I'd done his skirting than I'd done my own.
Ah well, the only person that'll notice will be T.
