Modding Ventura Rack to fit Rjays super top box

Ok, so whos done it?

Got a big 45l rjays top box off the wifes scooter, and a spare ventura rack
So you don't know either
Of course if you are using white on black text, then readability may not
be something you are inclined to worry about.

One of my pet peeves is magazines that think running the text across a
colour photo is OK as long as you use white text where it hits the
photo. Another is where in the interests of "style" they use a
ragged-left justification and run the text around an irregular image.

I guess they really don't want people to actually read the words.....

top.

obviously I will have to cut the hoop off, and weld it back on shorter or
something?
Some people need to get their mind to work at a level above their navel.
Think that I'm right on this one... Venturas are not welded with whatever
variation of welding machine? They are bronzed. Very thin walled tube.
I have it on good authority that Ventura racks are sent from the Bronze,
full of deceit, and treachery...

Nev..

Would need a good operator and I'm sure that there are experts out there who
would know why; I've been told (often!) but can't remember.

Actually... I find bronzing with an Oxy torch easier than welding...

but each to their own :)
Pedantic; hmmm? regardless of approach I think all the techniques are a
form of welding. Perhaps it is proper to differentiate between the energy
sources - electricity and gas?
The use of bronzing is probably because of the heat spread on the thin
walled tubing. In that regard if elec. welding was used I think it was that
TIG is better than MIG for that reason. Anyway there has been plenty said in
the past about the limitations with Ventura systems which are not made to
carry heavy loads.

I think you might find you're thinking of brazing. Bronzing is coating
something with bronze. Brazing is a form of soldering.
Bronzing is also an older term for 'soldering' using an oxy torch and a
bronz rod.

And yes Ventura racks do have some welding done on them. There are a couple
of methods of welding that can be used on thin material without blowing
holes in it.
Indeed... although it helps to have a real welder and not a $149 kmart
special :)

Cheers,
Dale.
Its all about voltage and transmission distances , if you really want
to know then I suggest some wiki time .
"Duck" tape :-)
I'll be away Saturday, but I'm free Sunday if you want a hand. I've
got a welder, etc etc etc. We can build pretty much whatever you want
(within reason).
What about a personal Sophia Loren ?
Can we assume you want a 60s version? Not the current.
the younger model is preffered yes
Can't help you either way. It's a chop shop, not a knock shop.
She's not old, she's experienced...
