Reasonable Price On 2006 Interceptor - No ABS (Quick Reply Needed)

I had a choice between continuing to drool as I passed the Honda
store on my way home, or just give in to primal urges and get what I
really wanted.

I am getting what I really want. :)

powersports.honda.com/motorcycles/sport/model.asp?
ModelName=Interceptor&ModelYear=2006&ModelId=VFR8006)

Base MSRP is $10,559, but obviously I would be paying a lot less than
that. I wanted to know the dealer pinch price on this so I can have a
base from which to negotiate from. My sources say $8100-$8300..but I
want to know from other riders. I also plan to get around $1000 in
accessories from same dealer.

I need a response real quick because I plan to buy within next 24
hours.

TIA,

I have a friend who's had something like 14 total VFRs' (commutes to
work everyday on MC's 80 miles, even in the summer heat, monsoon rain.
Anyway his last buy, an 06-ABS was for under $10K US OTD with hard
bags. They haven't kept up with the competition in terms of
displacement and heated grips and the like so they've been discounting
them to move these still fine bikes. An FJR-1300, ST-1300, 1050
Sprint ST or three valve ST3s all go for close to $14K US OTD with
ABS, so the Honda is a relative bargain; at least here in the PHX
metro (Western Honda). The VFR still is the sportiest of the lot but
with only 788cc's feels more like a 600 in terms of shifting a lot
when compared to a Sprint ST or FJR. Also, with the exception of the
ST3 or ST-1300 top speed and acceleration times are down compared to
the Sprint or FJR of which I've seen some rags reporting high 10's 1/4
mile and 160+ TS.
Thanks. I did spring for the VFR '06 no-ABS for right at $8000. Got
bunch of accessories to go with. I've always wonder just how much
performance has allowed to slip relative to other bikes. I guess I'll
find out this weekend when it's delivered. :)

They haven't changed much since 2002 it seems. I get the feeling that
Honda is afraid to change anything since they have relatively loyal
following for VFR's. Is this true?
