Result.

Phew, I passed the foundation course.
Well done!
Thank you. :)

Well done.
Well done
Thank you. :)

I'm on my engineering degree in September.
Now the fun really starts :)
Heh.. the alternative of having to do a Mc Job has been a good source of
strength.

Hold onto that happy feeling, it really helps once you get to the 2nd
year.
Yes, that's when things really get fun isn't it.
Excellent work.
congratulations. I'm glad the hard work paid off.
Well done.
x2. Enjoy, I'm sure you will.
Cheers Chris.
Congrats. :-)
Well done. The hard work has paid off.
Thank you. :)

It's a start.
Commiserations. 3 (or is it 4 as a sarnie course) years of poverty and mind
numbingly boring sums. Enjoy.
Yeh, I think I'll enjoy it though.
Followed by more protracted poverty, when you get a job, paying off the
loans.
As long as I don't get a Mc job, I'll be ok.

Besides, you're nothing until you're chartered.
Hmmm. That's a bit of a contentious statement. Never stopped me from
doing what I wanted to do.
You're right and the statement was somewhat tongue in cheek. However, in
my own case, at the company I work for, it has long been 'encouraged'
that engineers join their professional organisation and achieve
chartered status. They do pay the fees though.
Yeh, that would be a good thing to do I think.
Pointless exercise IMO. The Chartered Institutes are glorified
poor-mans clubs these days.

When I'm recruiting I show little interest in either membership or
chartered status; and this isn't just me...

Suppose it's worth pointing out I'm not chartered; but this is more a
matter of choice than anything else. I suppose if I was made redundant
I'd fill the forms in and attend an interview.

Well done.

On a related note: I might have to start repaying my student loan soon.
Arse.
I've just finished paying mine, 7 years after I graduated.
Don't get me started on that, either. I decided not to go to uni, but many
fiends from not well off families did. In the days of proper student grants.

Nice to have no debts.
You've paid the mortgage off too then?
See above.
I thought you had a mortgage?
Can't you just do another degree?
Well done. It's a shame you're not going to be doing a course that'll
be of long term use to you.
