Types of music harley davidson riders ride too?
|
Hey to all Harley Davidson Riders.,
I am doing research on music riders love to jam to while on the road.
|
For Harley riders? Foggy Mountain Breakdown.
|
19th Nervous Breakdown?
|
Nah. Harley riders don't need Stones.
|
|
|
As apposed to "Plastic Man" by the Kinks? :-)
|
More likely "Plastic Fantastic Lover" by Jefferson Airplane
|
|
|
|
How am I supposed to hear any music over the sound
of my pipes?
However if I could hear anything it would be bluegrass
(watch for motorcycle content):
ps. I hear tell that there are some radio stations
in places like Tennessee that play nothing but bluegrass
twenty-four seven.
pps. And who was the wise guy who mentioned
Foggy Mountain Breakdown?

Now I have my own idea , but I wanted to hear from you all out there.
Let me know if its rock, country rock, country, etc.
|
I have it on good authority the favorite song of all HD riders is,
"Mary Had a Little Lamb".
Second favorite is "Baa Baa Black Sheep".
Followed closely by "When the Ants Go Marching"
|
Heh... Everything has some value. Even with 110,000+ miles on the ODO
(all but 50 are mine) it still has some value... :)
|
Least favorite song of all HD riders is, "I've Been Everywhere".
|
|
Harley riders aren't able to hear, apparently, so I
doubt that they listen to much of anything. Even if
they could, I would think they'd be too distracted
by the sound of various bits shaking off their bikes
and the constant dripping of oil to pay much attention
to something as mundane as music.

Judging by some of th riders you see on them these days, a remake of an
old classic could be in order.......with the title of "Born to be Mild"!

Nothing. Straight pipes ruined my hearing 50 years ago.

I, too, am Harley/Victory/Indian rider at heart, but ride a Honda. I
don't listen to any music on the road, but if I did, it's be hard
rock and southern rock 'cause that's what's on my IPOD.
|
"Substitute" by The Who? ;-)
|
I shoul;da added, classic rock, too. Now as for the lyrics to that Who
tune... I have no freakin' idea what they mean...

I ride a Harley almost every day, and listen to music to it on almost
every ride. I listen to Texas roots and blues rock (Delbert
McClinton, Tommy Castro Band, John Hiatt, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Fabulous
Thunderbirds, Smokin' Joe Kubek, Charlie Musselwhite, Marcia Ball,
The Holmes Brothers, Johnny Winter, and a bunch more who don't spring
immediately to mind.
I've also recently been catching alternative "roots" country acts who
also sound a lot like an updated version of 1970's country rock[1],
people like Robert Earl Keen, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Fred Eaglesmith,
and Mary (not Martina) McBride.
In fact, in a complete surprise moment, I was telling my 18-year-old
daughter a couple of weeks ago about how good a recent 2-cd live Cross
Canadian Ragweed album I was listening to was, she turned around and
showed me that she had about 100 of their songs in her playlist.
Last night, she announced that they were coming to a local nightclub
next week, and now she and I are scheduled to go see them live. I
asked her if she wouldn't rather go with one of her friends and she
said that none of them had any taste in music! (Kinda makes a Dad
feel all warm & fuzzy.....)
