ringing from rear tire

maybe someone can help???

we just recently purchased our first harley ( first bike for that matter) on
may 16th. it was our 25th wedding ann. present to ourselves.
congrads on the 25th..

2005 dyna wide glide had 700 miles when we bought it, now has 2000 miles.
i notices the other day while riding alone and with no helmet that there is
a ringing coming from my rear tire. of course it slows down as the bike
slows down.
any suggestions???
thanks for the help
put your helmet back on :-)
no real pun intended...
You didn't pop for one o' those nice chrome "gremlin bells" when you
bought the bike did you?

Tony
Had a similar problem with an 06 Sportster. It would come and go and I
thouhgt it might have been a bad bearing. Turns out that the belt was
rubbing against the cowling and making this harmonic sound ...kinda
sorta like a ringing.

So I bring it back to the Harley dealer and he 'fixes' it by lubing the
belt.

Its going back today for re-alignment.
