'Splain something to me
|
Beertender, fill up the glasses of all these fine ladies and gents
while I see if I can figure something out.
Last Thursday evening some coworkers and I were enjoying dinner and a
Sam Adams at the sidewalk tables of a restaurant in Palm Beach County,
Florida. At one point a guy came by on his Harley. This had to be
the loudest motorcyle I have ever heard. He came by several times,
goosing it each time and disturbing everyone within a two block
radius.
Now, I have heard the "loud pipes save lives" line, but can anyone
give me a little better understanding of why some folks seem to
delight in making such an infernal racket? Every time one of these
bikes goes by I wonder how anyone can enjoy riding such a noisy
machine.
Maybe I am just getting old and need to get a Gold Wing. Naw, ain't

Mabe you havent tried riding it? ;-)
While you drive you really dont hear it that much... all the noise stays
behind. My pleasure is entering long tunnel with my bike. Now that is a
rumble!

Ask the wife.....SHE seems to like the "Noisy" pipes....gets her panties
moist...makes me a happy man later.
*I* don't really care if it bothers you, in fact..next time I ride past one
like you, I might rev it and backfire too....you OLD Buzzard.

What kind of Schwinn to YOU have?

1992 Schwinn Paramount. It's mostly stripped down since I put most of
the components on my Titanium Douglas frame that I got last year.

gonna happen.

He's probably been losing his hearing over the years from loud pipes and
has to get them progressively louder so he knows the bike is still running.

Stick with your Harley. They are either kids, or adults that really need
attention.
