Bonneville vs Sportster
|
Last night I passed a Hinckley Bonneville on a bridge
and everything about it looked right. The way it looked,
the way it moved, the riding position; it was all
classic old-school motorcycle.
I'd been planning for a Harley Sportster but I've
always felt drawn to the classic Brit twins.
Searching for comparative reviews I found this:
"Triumph aimed the Bonneville like an arrow straight
at the heart of Harley’s 883 Sportster.
With a heritage to rival the Yank’s and a better
riding performance the Bonneville is unquestionably
the better bike. The handling is more than respectable,
the brakes markedly better and, of course, it’s British."
My question is, what does "unquestionably the better bike"
mean in specifics? The new Sportsters have some advantages:
belt drive and fuel injection, plus (in North America)
more service and accessory support.
It's getting to be a hard decision. Any help appreciated.
