Moto Guzzi Norge wins Motociclismo 2007 Motorcycle of the Year Award

Looks like the word "Norge" hasn't been posted enough lately...

(and yes, that URL is work safe, despite the hostname!)

Important news for the Piaggio Group in the "Motorcycle of the year"
award held by the influential magazine "Motociclismo". The opinions of
more than 36,000 readers who took part in the survey were highly
favourable towards Aprilia, Vespa, Piaggio, Moto Guzzi and Gilera
motorbikes and scooters This was true to such an extent that out of
the 36 awards that Motociclismo put up (for the first three in each
category of motorbike and scooter in differing engine sizes), 15 of
them deservedly to Piaggio Group machines with 5 first prizes. The
extraordinary success of the Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 that won the
"Granturismo" category stands out among these awards.

Motociclismo readers votes put the Moto Guzzi Norge ahead of
"sacrosanct" machines in the GT sector like the BMW R 1200 RT that has
won this award seven times. In the Cruiser category, Moto Guzzi made
its mark with the California Vintage and the brand new Moto Guzzi
Bellagio that were respectively second and third after the HD Night
Rod.

The favourable "critical mass" created by the renovation of the Moto
Guzzi range has already been seen in similar specialist press
articles. In March, the Norge was awarded the "Granturismo of the
Year" title by the readers of the weekly "Motosprint" and the monthly
"In Moto". The 1200 Sport won the hearts of the German fortnightly
"Motorrad" where it came second in the Naked category.
how did the MZ go in the voting ?
