OT: The scary world of work awaits!

I've got a job!
Well done that pixie.
Well done
Congratulations a woman needs a bit of pin money but don't let it
interfere with your domestic duties.

WORK?

In a few weeks time I shall be the 'Learning Officer (Environment)'
for Luton Borough Council.
LO(E)FLBC#1 - cool. I doubt there'll ever be a #2.
Now please explain, exactly what one of them does ???
:-)
YAY!

Well done you, I'm absolutely delighted for you.
Thank you

I'm over the moon as this is exactly what I had in mind as a career
when I started my degree.
Your career goal was to work in Luton??
Nooo, my career goal was to get into environmental education - where I
did it was a secondary consideration. The fact that it's 10 minutes
up the road and doesn't necessitate us having to move and uproot the
kids from school and the rest of the family is a major bonus.

Ok, so it was voted the worst town in the UK in 2004, but Windsor
managed to get second place.
I'm not usually one to hold with surveys like this, but this time they
seem to be bang on the money.
I was amused by the survey published a few weeks ago. IIRC it was done by
the Daily Mail but reported widely. Apparently the Forest of Dean is one of
the best places to bring up children.

"The Forest of Dean acculturates your children perfectly, in all manner of
bigotry."

Fortunately, the natural areas around the town are superb and I'm
really pleased that I'm going to be involved in increasing awareness
and interest in the environmental and conservation issues in the area.
Ah, well good then.
Congratulations. What is a 'Learning Officer (Environment)'?
Thank you :)

I'll mainly be responsible for devising and delivering education
sessions and activities on the themes of nature conservation and the
natural environment to community and school groups. These will be at
any of the borough's museum or conservation sites - so loads of
variety and stuff outdoors which will be great.
That sounds like fun.
More to the point, Luton has conservation sites?!

and you need a degree for /that/?
It certainly helped I think.
Sounds good. I hope it's all you anticipate.

As you should.
Hey, well done!
Very well done

Go you, you LGO you
Excellent! Well done :)
Say hello to my sister, she works there somewhere?
Well done.
Well done, Elly (sorry it's taken me so long to look at the ukrm
backlog...). I raise my wine-glass Bedfordshirewise in salute!
oh congrats - I'll raise a glass with you soon
Congratulations and very well done. All that hard work has paid off.
I had been looking forward to a summer off, but this position came up
and it was just too good an opportunity to miss out on. I had
convinced myself that I wouldn't get it as it just all seemed too
perfect.

I was just about to start the second class of my archery course when I
got the call - certainly the most unusual place that I've received a
job offer!
Well done Elly. :) I've still got a long way to go with my degree.
Through the first year, hope I pass this one.
You'll be fine! The second year is tough, but believe me, you'll be
through that and taking your finals before you know it.
Dunno, took the most part of 2 months off from Feb. Working at reduced
capacity after that. Got things still to do over summer, and next year
from this year.

I'm waiting for my confirmed results to be published in a couple of
weeks and then it's graduation on 13th July - roll on the silly hat
and gown!
Oh yeh, excellent. :) I'll be there in another 2 years, providing I
don't have another relapse and stay healthy.

It only seemed like the other day that we were chatting about
university, passing modules and handing in assignments. :o))
Well done.

At least you'll be able to rely on Lozzo having your dinner ready for when
you get home :)

I really don't like kebabs that much.
There's always beef with spring onion and ginger, with a portion of=20
special fried rice.=20
Well done you too for getting a 2-1=20
Yay! Well done Tori - I've got to wait until the 20th June for
confirmation of my classification.
Me too, haven't got the grade yet, but unless my work is as drastically
apalling as I fear, it's what I'll get.
Take away is good.

There's a place here, Tao Tao, that does a ginger beef as it's signature
dish. It positively rocks.
OOh, just seen this. Great news. Good luck to you.

I was going to write "Break a leg", but it just didn't come out right.
Well done girl. I'm so proud of you.
Can I be the first to congratulate you?
Too late.
Good on yer hon.

Looking forward to hoisting a glass with you soon :)
Nice one!

And a double bonus getting a job you'll be happy in.
Cor, steady on lass, you could have somebody's eye out...
Ooops, sorry :)
Nice one! Good luck with it.
Thanks :)
