Help SV Riders

I rode the '06 SV650S and GSXR600 back to back today.

I liked many things about the SV but it doesn't fit my body. I am 6 feet
tall with a 33 inch inseam. Just not tenable.

I need considerably more room for legs. The excessive weight supported by
the arms could probably be fixed without adversely affecting the still air
behind the fairing but the leg room problem is huge.

My question is this. How does the riding position of the SV1000S compare to
the SV650S? Is the geometry the same? Is there more leg room? How much more?
How do tall riders like these bikes? Mods? How do helibars affect the ride?
Relocation of footpegs?
Rob, I've never even put a leg over an '06, but I have an
'01 SV650 (nekkid) and am also 6' (32" inseam). I
bought the bike from a guy who's probably an inch or so
taller, and he'd made the following mods to it:

- Replaced the stock seat with one from Sargeant, and

- Replaced the stock handlebar to get an inch or so
more rise; he told me what's on the bike now is from a
Buell, but I don't know which. If you've just gotta have
the riding position of the S, though, I don't suppose
you're going to be interested in this. But I specifically
avoided the S when I was shopping for an SV for this very
reason. I just do not like the ergonomics.

The pegs are in the stock location, and the Sargeant
seat probably adds almost an inch over the stock version;
I'm reasonably comfortable with it the way it is.

I'm not looking for a track bike as such but a sporty twin that can do some
distance if required.
